Hello Dear Friends,
Lately I have been thinking a lot about what it means to live a Creative Life. For me, it isn't necessarily only about being an artist - it's about choosing to see the world with curiosity and imagination. It means embracing possibility, taking risks, and staying open to surprise. Whether through painting, gardening, problem-solving, time with family and friends, or simply noticing beauty in the everyday, creativity is a way of engaging with life more fully.
A creative life invites us to simply play, to explore without needing a guaranteed result. It teaches us resilience, because making something new often means failing first. But through that process, we learn to trust ourselves - to listen to our inner voice rather than just follow the crowd.
Perhaps most importantly, creativity also connects us to others. It helps us communicate ideas and emotions that words alone can't express. When we create, we share something deeply personal and, in doing so, build bridges of understanding. Connections.
So, along the lines of play and connection, I will be traveling this summer near and far with friends to paint, laugh and immerse in my art. Details to come. And, speaking of being open to surprises, I am delighted to have been awarded an Honorary Mention in the Paint Great Falls Plein Air event at the end of May. Woot!
Ultimately, living a creative life is a choice. Summer is the perfect time to choose creativity so get out there and let me know what you do to spark your inner creative juices.
Enjoy this gorgeous month of June!
